A Multi-Denominational Experience

Unity and Diversity in Christian Education
BY: Aaron Dininny

We have all heard how divided our world is today. Politics, race, religion, whatever the topic, people find a way to dig holes so relationship cannot take root. Seapointe College prepares students to bring Christ-centered unity to the Church so the people of God can be a model of unity amongst a diversity of worldviews today. We recruit, promote and teach cross-denominationally to provide a multi-denominational learning experience. This means from whatever denomination you come, we can learn from one another. We will not always agree, but we will seek to understand those with whom we do not always agree. And as long as we are anchored in Christ as revealed in the Scriptures, we can aim for unity, learning alongside one another.

In John 17:21 Jesus prayed for all those who would believe in Him, “May they all be one, as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You.” Jesus’s prayer for unity is a prayer for future disciples (that’s us!) to work together for the sake of the gospel and the Church’s witness in the community. For a community to be truly cared for, the leaders in that community must be equipped to care. We believe students are best cared for when they grow as compassionate leaders, learning through differences, while maintaining unity in Christ. Seapointe College provides a multi-denominational experience for the student to be equipped in unity and diversity for community care.
