Robert Slowik


Robert Slowik is continuing his third career as he invests time and vision to the Seapointe College board of directors. Following graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1970 he served as a carrier-based attack pilot and completed post- graduate academic work at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterrey, California. When he was not flying scheduled missions, Bob found time to serve as choir director on three aircraft carriers and later as worship leader at a local church. Bob started an airline career in 1991 and retired as a captain at Delta Air Lines in 2011. While employed as an airline pilot, He began work to build a training program for airline pilot volunteers who were motivated to work with their employers, other employees, and government representatives to make air travel safer. As the Air Line Pilots Association Training Programs Coordinator, he managed four safety administration courses and three accident investigation courses, and co-wrote the course curriculum for the Advanced Accident Investigation Course presented jointly with the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.
Bob lives in Virginia Beach, Virginia with Karen, his wife of fifty years. They have two grown children.
